UK WIRE & WIRE PRODUCTS MARKET RESEARCH REPORT

After researching the UK wire & wire products market development and taking into account various other factors the following conclusions can be drawn from MBD's report:

MARKET REVIEW 2003-2007:

The UK market for wire and wire products is believed to have increased in volume terms by 3% to reach a five year peak 818 900 tonnes in 2007. This is equivalent to cumulative growth of 30% during the review period, with volume sales believed to have increased during four of the five years under review.

MARKET FORECAST 2008-2012:

The UK market for wire and wire products is forecast to increase year-on-year during the forecast period. In 2012 volume sales are anticipated to increase by 4% in real terms to 1033 901 tonnes, equivalent to real term growth of 26% compared with 2007. MBD believe anticipated market growth partly reflects a relatively positive outlook in a number of key end-use industries, in particular the construction sector which is expected to continue to increase throughout the forecast period.
