UK SHOPFITTING MARKET RESEARCH REPORT

MARKET REVIEW 2003-2007:

The UK market for shopfitting has demonstrated annual growth throughout the five year review period up to 2007. In 2006, the value of the market increased by 6%, which is expected to be followed by further growth of 9% in the current year, taking the UK market for shopfitting to £4508 million This is in contrast to slightly stronger growth of between 11% and 12% recorded at the beginning of the review period. Overall, the value of the market is believed to have increased by 38% since 2003.

MARKET FORECAST 2008-2012:

The UK shopfitting market is anticipated to demonstrate annual real term growth during each year of the forecast period up to 2012. Annual growth levels are forecast to fluctuate between 1% and 5% in real terms, culminating in growth of 17% between 2007 and 2012. Demand is expected to be generated through output growth in the retail construction sector and continued refurbishment and expansion activity by a number of large national retailers is anticipated to facilitate further growth for shopfitting activity. Moreover, in the new build sector, the development of the Olympic site in Stratford, East London, is expected to incorporate the largest single retail development over the next few years.
