UK SECURITY EQUIPMENT MARKET RESEARCH REPORT

Demand for security alarms and systems, including sales and rental income, is estimated to have increased during each year under review, with annual levels of growth fluctuating between a marginal level and 3%. In 2007, the value of the market is believed to have increased by 3% to £2927 million, also equivalent to overall cumulative growth of 7% compared with the beginning of the review period. The development of the UK market for security alarms and systems, including rental sales and income, has been stronger than that of the security alarms and systems market, reflecting the popularity of rental systems.

MARKET FORECAST 2008-2012:

The total UK market for security alarms and systems, including sales and rental income is projected to demonstrate year-on-year real term growth between 2007 and 2012, culminating in an overall increase of 8% to £3156 million (at 2007 prices) in the latter year. Annual growth levels are expected to remain moderate, fluctuating around 1% and 2%. Market development is expected to be hindered due to a number of security equipment sectors now being relatively mature. Furthermore, intense price competition is anticipated to remain a feature of the market. However some sectors of the market are expected to continue to show strong growth potential, boosted by technological developments, notably the CCTV sector.
