UK PLUMBING PRODUCTS MARKET RESEARCH REPORT

After researching the UK plumbing prodiucts market development and taking into account various other factors the following conclusions can be drawn from MBD's report:

MARKET REVIEW 2003-2007:

In 2007, the UK plumbing products market increased by an estimated 5% to a period peak of £4328.5 million (at MSP). Strong double digit growth rates were recorded in both 2003 and 2004, partially reflecting the buoyancy of the UK construction industry and high levels of repair & maintenance. However growth rates moderated to 8% and 7% in 2005 and 2006 respectively. Overall, sales increased by an estimated 37% in the five years under review. The introduction of Part L1 of the building regulations which require gas fired boilers installed after 1st April 2005 and oil fired boilers installed after 1st April 2007, to be condensing boilers whether they are replacements or new installations, is believed to have buoyed the UK plumbing market.

MARKET FORECAST 2008-2012:

By 2012, the UK market for plumbing products is anticipated to reach £4993.2 million (at 2007 prices). The market is projected to increase year on year with annual growth rates oscillating between 2% and 4% in real terms. Overall, a real term increase of 15% is expected between 2007 and 2012.
