ITALIAN CONSTRUCTION MARKET RESEARCH REPORT

After researching the Italian construction market development and taking into account various other factors the following conclusions can be drawn from MBD's report:

MARKET REVIEW 2000-2004:

The Italian market for construction has achieved modest but diminishing real term growth throughout the review period from 2000 to 2004, accounting for nearly14% of total European construction output at an estimated level of £88.5 billion in 2004.

MARKET FORECAST 2005-2009:

The construction market in Italy is expected to remain somewhat depressed during the early part of the forecast period, although slightly higher growth is anticipated to resume from 2009. Following growth of a projected 1% in real terms in 2005, the market is expected to fall by 2% in 2006 before returning to 1% per annum real growth to 2009, when 2% growth is forecast.
