UK INDUSTRIAL FLOORING MARKET RESEARCH REPORT

After researching the UK industrial flooring market development and taking into account various other factors the following conclusions can be drawn from MBD's report:

MARKET REVIEW 2003-2007:

In 2007, the UK market for industrial flooring increased by an estimated 7% to a period peak of £68 million at MSP, consolidating the trend for growth evident prior to that. Indeed, in the four years to 2006, year on year increases were recorded with annual rates of growth peaking at 14% in 2006. Overall, between 2003 and 2007 an increase of 43% is estimated. MBD believe industry growth reflects continued output growth in the private industrial construction sector along with increased repair & maintenance activity. Within the private industrial construction sector, output of warehouses and factories is believed to have increased by a respective 12% and 5% in 2007. The industrial flooring market has been positively affected by consumer demand for larger retail stores, as these stores require increased warehouse and distribution support. Moreover, industrial flooring companies have reported increased demand from the commercial and public sector, reflecting innovation in product manufacture leading to the availability of a wider range of products to suit a number of design concepts.

MARKET FORECAST 2008-2012:

MBD believe the UK market for industrial flooring will demonstrate year on year growth during the forecast period reaching a peak of £84.6 million in 2012 (at 2007 prices). Moderate growth is expected in 2008 reflecting the anticipated slowdown in economic growth in the year. Projected growth reflects a projected increase in private industrial output, notably in the warehouses sector, along with increased repair & maintenance activity.
