RELEASED: MAY 2008 After researching the UK consulting engineers market development and taking into account various other factors the following conclusions can be drawn from MBD's report: MARKET REVIEW 2003-2007: In 2007 the total value of fees rendered is anticipated reach a five year peak of £12 495 million, representing growth of 6% in the year and 34% in comparison with 2003. Prior to this the total value of fees rendered moderated from a peak of 15% in 2003 to 3% in 2005, although strong growth of 14% was recorded during the following year. Much of the growth in the market is attributable to buoyant construction activity during the review period. London and the South East are seen as major growth areas for activity, underlining the importance of the 2012 Olympic Games. MARKET FORECAST 2008-2012: The market for UK consulting engineers is expected to demonstrate year-on-year growth between 2008 and 2012. In the latter year, the value of the market is projected to reach £20.38 billion (at 2007 prices), representing growth of 9% in the year and of 44% in real terms compared with 2007. MBD believe growth is expected to accelerate towards the end of the forecast period, partially due to the effects of the London 2012 Olympics.
